Agroforestry Training Senior Officer – Fixed Term

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an experienced agroforestry training professional to lead the development, revision, and delivery of technical training for field teams, stakeholders, and tree nursery operators within the South Tree Program in Ethiopia. This fixed‑term position will drive reforestation impact by ensuring high‑quality training content and effective knowledge transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and lead training components for the South Tree Program, covering seedling production, marketing, distribution, and tree planting.
• Revise training manuals annually with new species information and updated recommendations.
• Conduct data quality checks on printed training documents and bindings.
• Deliver technical Training‑of‑Trainers (TOT) sessions for field staff.
• Follow up with Tree Nursery Operators to ensure training translates into improved nursery performance and production targets.
• Support non‑technical training and professional development planning as needed.
• Execute small‑ to medium‑complexity training projects and tree‑related initiatives, including field needs assessments.

Required profile

• Professional experience in agroforestry training and capacity building.
• Proven ability to develop and update training manuals and materials.
• Experience leading TOT sessions and supporting field teams.
• Capability to conduct data quality checks on training documentation.
• Experience managing small‑ to medium‑scale training projects.
