Consultancy Coordinator for High-level Working Group

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) seeks a consultant to serve as Coordinator for its High‑level Working Group on the Global Financial Architecture. The role provides both substantive and coordination support to a platform that brings together African finance ministers, multilateral institutions and development partners.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse global economic developments and assess their implications for African economies.
• Track policy updates related to reforms of the global financial architecture and evaluate their impact on African countries.
• Draft reform proposals, policy briefs, technical notes and presentations for high‑level engagements.
• Provide technical input to ECA’s participation in G20, G24, IMF and World Bank forums.
• Back‑stop the Working Group’s documents, knowledge products and other materials.
• Coordinate and organise meetings, workshops and virtual sessions of the Working Group.

Required profile

• Experience in economic analysis and policy coordination within an international or multilateral context.
• Familiarity with African finance ministries, development banks and multilateral institutions.
• Ability to work under the guidance of the Deputy Executive Secretary (Programmes) or designated representative.
