Consultant – Coordinator for High-Level Working Group

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa is seeking a consultant to serve as the Coordinator of the High‑Level Working Group on the Global Financial Architecture. The role provides both substantive and coordination support to the Group, which brings together African finance ministers, development banks, and multilateral institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse global economic developments and their implications for African economies.
• Track policy updates related to reforms of the global financial architecture and assess their impact on African countries.
• Draft reform proposals, policy briefs, technical notes and presentations for high‑level engagements.
• Provide technical input to ECA’s participation in platforms such as the G20, G24, IMF and World Bank.
• Backstop the Working Group’s documents, knowledge products and meeting materials.
• Coordinate the organization of Working Group meetings and related activities.

Required profile

• Consultant with experience in economic analysis and coordination of high‑level policy groups.
• Familiarity with the global financial architecture and African development finance.
• Ability to produce policy‑oriented documents and briefings for senior stakeholders.
