Education Evaluation Technical Consultant – 6.5 month contract

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Evaluation Technical Consultant to support the transition of the Access to Education output into a programme approach. The 6.5‑month consultancy will be office‑based in Addis Ababa with travel to stakeholder meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and facilitate a high‑level workshop with government, donors and partners to gather input on the draft evaluation report.
• Present education components of the EU Education Project at the dissemination workshop.
• Review, finalise and incorporate the evaluation findings into the donor report for the EU grant.
• Coordinate the management response on behalf of the education section.
• Provide technical education inputs to the evaluation unit for the upcoming Access to Education evaluation.
• Maintain communication with donors, government and partners throughout the evaluation process.
• Draft a transition plan to move Output 2 from project to programme management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social sciences, education or a related field.
• Minimum three years of project coordination experience.
• At least three years of experience working with EU grants.
• Experience collaborating with UN agencies.
• Fluent English; Amharic is desirable.
