Finance and Budget Section Internship

About the role

The Finance and Budget Section (FBS) of the Administration and Conference Management Division at the Economic Commission for Africa is seeking an intern to support service automation initiatives, including survey automation and digital tool development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, testing and updating automated surveys and forms for FBS service needs.
• Support the collection, organization and analysis of survey responses and service data.
• Help develop or improve trackers, dashboards, templates and other tools used by FBS units.
• Support process mapping and documentation of workflows across the Account, Trust Fund, Payroll, Treasury and Budget units.
• Assist in preparing reports, summaries, presentations and briefing materials based on collected data.
• Review existing manual processes and identify opportunities for automation.
• Maintain records and organize information related to finance, budget and service delivery activities.
• Coordinate with FBS units on automation requirements and follow‑up actions.
• Participate in testing, quality checks and gathering user feedback for automated tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program related to finance, economics, business administration or a similar field.
• No professional work experience required.
• Interest in financial services, budgeting and digital automation.
