Finance Officer – Financial Management & Controls

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to lead and strengthen our financial operations. The role will focus on implementing robust internal controls, managing cash‑flow and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Implement internal financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Implement financial risk management and controls.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
• On‑time payment of salaries, wages, transport, claim reimbursements and statutory payments.
• Prepare and share correct, complete and accurate invoices and statements of accounts.
• Monitor and implement budgets, including budget preparation.
• Ensure adherence to Ethiopian financial and tax compliances, including filing tax returns.
• Manage and control cash‑flows and working capital.
• Produce accurate and timely financial management reports.
• Manage relationships with internal staff, client finance and procurement teams.

Required profile

• Degree or MBA in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• 2–3 years of financial management experience in retail or FMCG.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Knowledge of local statutory legislation and regulations.
• Effective time‑management and organizational abilities.
