International Consultant – Co‑editor for African Migration Report III

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an experienced consultant to serve as co‑editor for the third edition of the African Migration Report (AMR III). This consultancy will support the collaborative effort between IOM and the African Union Commission to produce a comprehensive, evidence‑based analysis of migration dynamics across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead editorial work on AMR III, ensuring coherence, accuracy, and alignment with the report’s objectives.
• Coordinate contributions from partners including the African Union Commission, Regional Economic Communities, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate data synthesis, literature review, and integration of research findings into the report.
• Maintain a consistent narrative that highlights intra‑continental migration, its multidimensional nature, and its role in development and integration.
• Provide regular updates to IOM and partner teams, adhering to agreed timelines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in migration research, policy analysis, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to edit and manage large, multi‑author reports.
• Familiarity with African migration contexts and the institutions involved in the AMR project.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
