Market System Development Advisor – Inclusive Dairy Project

About the role

CST Ethiopia is looking for a Market System Development (MSD) Advisor to support the JOA‑funded Inclusive Dairy Development for Resilience project. The role will focus on strengthening dairy market systems in high‑potential areas of Oromia and Addis Ababa while integrating women’s empowerment and the Jersey breed into the value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support on the MSD approach throughout project implementation.
• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops for CST staff and implementing partners on MSD concepts.
• Ensure women’s empowerment objectives are integrated and gender‑responsive across all activities.
• Collaborate with the Resilient Communities Program Manager, Business Development & Compliance Advisor, MEAL Advisor, and local partner HUNDEE‑Oromo Grassroots Development Initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in the dairy sector and market system development.
• Demonstrated ability to apply MSD methodology in development projects.
• Strong understanding of gender integration and women’s empowerment in agricultural value chains.
