About the role
SOS Children’s Villages in Ethiopia is seeking a Project Accountant to support the Children in Street Situation project in Dessie. The role will manage finance and administration for the project, ensuring accurate reporting, donor compliance, and alignment with the organization’s safeguarding principles.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate project finance, including budget planning, expenditure tracking, and donor compliance.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial statements and progress finance reports.
- Review payment and disbursement requests for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
- Record all project office financial transactions in the SOS financial system and meet submission deadlines.
- Maintain up‑to‑date account books according to SOS Financial Manual & Procedures.
- Champion SOS safeguarding policies, including the Child & Youth Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
Required profile
- Commitment to uphold SOS safeguarding principles and related policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with international donors, local government, and community partners.
