Building & Utilities Electrician – GSC Leaf Supply

About the role

JTI is seeking a Building & Utilities Electrician to join the GSC Leaf Supply team. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, generators, and utility equipment across Leaf locations, ensuring safe and uninterrupted operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution systems, control panels, MCCs, motors, generators, ATS units, and lighting systems.
• Monitor, inspect and maintain tobacco curing barns, including control panels, RH, WB, DB and temperature sensors, and keep daily maintenance logs.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment promptly.
• Maintain utility equipment such as water pumps, fuel pumps and HVAC systems.
• Support grading machines, conveyor belts, press machines and misting systems by resolving electrical issues.
• Conduct shift handovers, keep accurate maintenance records and respond to breakdowns during on‑call duties.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements and company EHS standards.
• Report major activities and equipment failures to supervisors and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electricity, Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial electrical assets.
• Operation and maintenance of utility equipment (generators, pumps, HVAC).
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Energy monitoring and equipment performance tracking.
