District Project Coordinator – RISE Project

About the role

The District Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the RISE project in Babile and Midhega Tola, ensuring compliance with donor and government requirements while maintaining World Vision Ethiopia’s reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all RISE project activities at field level, ensuring they meet approved standards, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
• Manage financial and physical implementation, track expenditures, and report progress to donors, management, and government offices.
• Supervise field Project Officers, provide technical guidance, and address implementation challenges promptly.
• Build and maintain relationships with local government structures, NGOs, and community groups, representing the project in coordination forums.
• Prepare and submit regular operational plans, progress reports, and narrative documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, WASH or related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in coordination or management roles, preferably with NGOs and USAID/BHA or EHF funded projects.
• Fluent oral and written Amharic, English, and Afan Oromo; strong knowledge of local culture.

Required skills

• Program management and participatory monitoring & evaluation.
• Community participation, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Participatory Learning & Action (PLA).
• Experience in donor reporting and financial tracking.
