Driver (Fixed-Term) – Ethiopia

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a reliable driver on a fixed‑term basis to support staff and material transport across its operations in Ethiopia. The role involves daily vehicle operation, cargo handling, and ensuring safe, punctual travel for the organization’s personnel and supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive staff and cargo to designated locations while maintaining a service‑oriented attitude.
• Adhere strictly to work schedules, speed limits, and Ethiopian road regulations.
• Adapt to route changes and develop a reliable incident‑reporting system.
• File weekly vehicle logbooks and obtain supervisor sign‑off.
• Conduct daily pre‑departure checks (fuel, oil, brakes, tires, lights) and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Report accidents or emergencies promptly and factually.
• Use the vehicle exclusively for official purposes and report any unauthorized use.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian road rules and safety regulations.
• Ability to follow OAF transport policies and the driver’s pledge.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to punctuality and service.
• Capable of handling cargo safely and maintaining accurate records.
