Import Operations Division Head

About the role

Vital Global Trading PLC is looking for an experienced leader to head its Import Operations Division. The role will manage the end‑to‑end tender, procurement and import process, from identifying opportunities to final delivery, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full tender, procurement, import, logistics and delivery cycle.
• Manage the division’s P&L, operating plan and bid strategy.
• Evaluate tender opportunities based on profitability, capacity, risk and strategic fit.
• Oversee supplier sourcing, negotiations and ensure competitive, compliant bids.
• Handle bid bonds, performance guarantees and LC‑related requirements.
• Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, warehousing and final delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with government institutions and procurement authorities.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary operational team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement or related field; Master’s/MBA is a plus.
• 3–6 years of progressive experience in import, procurement or related operations.
• 2–4 years of senior operational or divisional leadership experience.
• Proven experience in sourcing, tendering, logistics, customs clearance, warehousing and delivery.
• Experience with government or large institutional tenders in Ethiopia preferred.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian customs procedures, import duties/taxes and public procurement requirements.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, commercial and risk‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
