General Manager – Ethiopia Data Center Operations

About the role

Bitdeer Technologies Group is seeking a General Manager to lead its entry and growth in Ethiopia. The role will oversee the full spectrum of data‑center activities, from market entry strategy to construction, government liaison and ongoing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute medium‑ and long‑term strategic plans to achieve operational excellence and market share.
• Identify and nurture client relationships, renew contracts and generate new business opportunities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies to secure permits and ensure compliance.
• Lead feasibility studies, design, construction, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of data‑center facilities, meeting industry standards such as Uptime Tier and ISO.
• Report progress to headquarters, manage risks and provide contingency plans.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in data‑center or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building operations in emerging markets.
• Strong understanding of Ethiopian regulatory environment and ability to work with government stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership and cross‑functional team management skills.
