Movement Operations Associate – Team Leader (Airport)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Movement Operations Associate to lead airport‑based field support teams. Reporting to the National Associate Operations Officer and the Senior Operations Assistant (FS) – Airport, the role ensures safe and efficient travel assistance for migrants and refugees.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake field activities at airports, transit centres, third‑party facilities or camps, providing end‑to‑end travel support.
• Monitor, guide and lead Operations Clerks and Assistants in completing field support tasks.
• Manage custodial care of travel documentation, verify identities, visas, tickets and exit permissions.
• Assist individuals with airport formalities, including check‑in, luggage handling, immigration, security screening and customs clearance.
• Escort arriving and departing individuals, ensure special‑needs support, and confirm flight departures.
• Lead support teams at transit centres, handling sign‑in, orientation, distribution of food/non‑food items, room assignments and departure briefings.
• Enter and update data in IOM systems, ensuring the safety and comfort of vulnerable persons.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of senior IOM operations officers.
• Experience in coordinating field teams in airport or transit environments.
• Strong attention to detail for handling travel documentation and identity verification.
• Capacity to provide assistance to individuals with special needs.
