Packaging Machine Specialist

About the role

The Packaging Machine Specialist ensures that packaging equipment runs smoothly, maintains high product quality, and supports continuous improvement across the plant. You will work closely with shift teams, process artisans, and maintenance planners to keep machines available and operating at optimal cost.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer on machine operation to shift‑based teams.
• Act as functional expert for problem solving, supporting zones and participating in regional optimization trials.
• Assist process artisans with machine fault finding, corrective actions and implementation of latest standard work instructions.
• Participate in maintenance planning meetings, contribute suggestions, and ensure backlog meets required hours.
• Execute planned maintenance tasks within scheduled windows and support teammates during these periods.
• Carry out routine ATO cleaning, lubrication, inspection and condition monitoring as per schedule.
• Document findings, feed back lessons learned in post‑mortems and communicate any additional work required to the Maintenance Planner.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving ability on FMCG packaging machines.
• Excellent communication skills to transfer technical knowledge to operational staff.
• Experience training, coaching and mentoring teams on ATO and 5S principles.
• Focus on optimizing usage, reducing waste and maintaining high standards.
