Social Behavioural Change Officer (SBC) – Immunization

About the role

The Social Behavioural Change (SBC) Officer will support Save the Children’s GSK‑funded immunization programme in Ethiopia. Working at the woreda level, the officer will help generate community demand for vaccines and address sociocultural barriers that prevent children from being immunised.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and monitor SBC interventions aimed at increasing vaccine uptake.
• Conduct assessments to identify gender‑related and cultural barriers to immunisation.
• Provide technical assistance to government partners at regional, zonal and woreda levels.
• Strengthen the capacity of field staff on demand‑generation strategies.
• Support the development of SBC strategies aligned with national community mobilisation plans.
• Report on SBC activities, outcomes and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in social and behavioural change, community mobilisation or public health.
• Familiarity with immunisation programmes and the Ethiopian health context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government officials, NGOs and field teams.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
