Trade Marketing Representative – Retail Territory

About the role

We are looking for a Trade Marketing Representative to manage a defined retail territory in Afar, Ethiopia. You will develop efficient route plans, ensure product availability and visibility, and execute trade marketing programmes to grow market share and strengthen our brand.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned retail outlets and conduct regular visits according to route plans
• Ensure product availability and optimal visibility in all outlets
• Execute trade marketing programmes across the territory
• Perform top‑up sales to minimise out‑of‑stock situations and meet sales targets
• Expand distribution by onboarding new outlets and improving product listings
• Monitor and support wholesalers to ensure proper distribution practices and pricing compliance
• Collect and analyse market data using mobile SFA tools to generate actionable insights
• Identify and develop new sales opportunities in coordination with the sales team
• Monitor illicit trade activities and report findings to the supervisor
• Build strong relationships with retailers and represent the company professionally
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations and safety standards
• Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the line manager

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in Marketing, Economics, Business Management or a related field
• Good command of English
• Proficiency in MS Office applications

• Strong field sales execution skills
• Basic knowledge of FMCG market dynamics
• Ability to use mobile sales force automation (SFA) tools
• Data collection and reporting skills
