Vaccine Manufacturing Specialist

About the role

The Africa Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (Africa CDC) is seeking a Vaccine Manufacturing Specialist to strengthen the continent’s vaccine manufacturing ecosystem. The role will be based in Addis Ababa and will support African manufacturers through the entire product lifecycle, from technology transfer to market entry.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for vaccine and biologics manufacturing, including technology transfer and manufacturing readiness.
• Support manufacturers across product prioritisation, scale‑up, regulatory pathways and operational readiness.
• Facilitate coordination among manufacturers, national regulatory authorities, procurement agencies, partners and Member States to accelerate product approval and access.
• Implement Africa CDC/PHAHM initiatives related to vaccine manufacturing.
• Develop strategic partnerships and commercialization pathways to enhance sustainability and competitiveness of African manufacturers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vaccine or biologics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of technology transfer, regulatory alignment and market entry processes.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the health‑product value chain.
