About the role
Under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Assistant (GS-5), you will manage daily receipt and dispatch of UNICEF supplies in the Addis Ababa warehouse. The role ensures that storage conditions, handling procedures, and security measures meet product‑specific requirements while supporting humanitarian operations.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, unload, stack, and store supplies following FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Create waybills and update inventory records in the VISION system and bin cards.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and report discrepancies, damages, or near‑expiry items.
- Support picking, packing, loading, and dispatch to implementing partners and field offices.
- Prepare transport arrangements and dispatch documentation, including gatepasses and waybills.
- Monitor warehouse cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain proper filing of warehouse documents and assist with day‑to‑day operations as assigned.
Required profile
- Ability to work under supervision in a fast‑paced humanitarian environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate inventory management.
- Physical capability to handle loading and unloading of supplies.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the VISION inventory management system.
