Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with Ethiopian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
• Process tax declarations and statutory filings via the ERCA/eTax System.
• Handle VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, pension and other statutory obligations.
• Manage import/export documentation through the Ethiopian Electronic Single Window (ESW) and eTrade Platform.
• Submit regulatory reports through the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Online System.
• Coordinate payroll processing with HR.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with the ERCA/eTax System.
• Familiarity with the Ethiopian eTrade Platform, ESW system and EIC Online System.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Peachtree, Odoo or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Apps skills.
• Experience using ERCA/eTax, Ethiopian eTrade Platform, Electronic Single Window (ESW) and EIC Online systems.
