Accountant

About the role

Vivatech is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its finance team in Addis Ababa. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
• Process tax declarations and statutory filings using the ERCA/eTax System.
• Handle VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, pension and other statutory obligations.
• Prepare and process payroll in coordination with HR.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Maintain proper filing of financial records and official company documents.
• Provide basic HR administrative support and assist with procurement for tech projects.
• Oversee daily office operations, ensure a clean workspace and manage office supplies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with the ERCA/eTax System.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree or Odoo.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Apps.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
