Africa Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Manager

About the role

The Africa Ageing Conference is a flagship biennial platform that brings together older people, governments, civil society, academia and private sector to advance ageing‑inclusive development across the continent. The postholder will lead day‑to‑day opportunity development, donor cultivation and partnership engagement for the Conference, while also contributing to wider resource mobilisation priorities under the Africa Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Conference resource mobilisation and partnership plan, aligning with organisational fundraising targets.
• Build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of funding, sponsorship and in‑kind opportunities, tracking status, next steps and strategic fit.
• Create compelling investment propositions, concept notes, proposals and pitch materials in collaboration with technical, finance and communications teams.
• Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with prospective funders, sponsors, network members and strategic partners, representing HelpAge in approved external engagements.
• Coordinate with the Conference Planning team and Regional Adviser to ensure fundraising activities meet programme priorities and deliver required resources.

Required profile

• Degree in international development, fundraising, public policy, international relations, social sciences or equivalent professional experience.
• Substantial experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships or business development in an international or regional context, including managing pipelines from research to stewardship.
• Proven ability to produce investment propositions, concept notes, proposals and sponsor packages for major conferences or multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
• Excellent written communication, coordination and information‑management skills with strong attention to detail.
