African Union Internship Program 2026 for Young Africans

About the role

The African Union Internship Program 2026 offers a full‑time placement in Addis Ababa for young Africans to complement their academic studies and develop professional skills within the AU. Interns will be immersed in the daily work of the organization and gain exposure to its core functions.

Key responsibilities

• Support AU departments in routine tasks and administrative duties.
• Participate in projects that provide hands‑on experience across various applicable fields.
• Engage with a multicultural team and contribute to AU initiatives.

Required profile

• Actively enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
• National of an African Union member state.
• Fluent in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese).
• Maximum age of 32 at the time of selection.
• High moral conduct, integrity and no serious criminal convictions.
• No prior work experience required.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Competent use of email and internet applications.
