African Union Internship Program – Full‑time Internship

About the role

The African Union Internship Program offers a full‑time, on‑site placement for qualified candidates to gain professional exposure within the AU. Interns will work alongside AU staff, contributing to various projects while developing intercultural communication and administrative skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support AU departments in daily administrative and research tasks.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and briefing documents.
• Participate in meetings and take accurate minutes.
• Conduct data entry and maintain databases using standard office software.
• Engage with staff from diverse cultural backgrounds to facilitate collaborative work.

Required profile

• Be a national of an African Union Member State.
• Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program or hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
• Age not exceeding 32 years at the time of selection.
• Demonstrate high moral conduct, integrity and no serious criminal record.
• Fluent in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese).

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Competence with email and internet applications.
• Good interpersonal and written communication abilities.
