American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor – Addis Ababa

About the role

The American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor will join Ethiopia Resuscitation Training, the country’s first AHA Authorized Training Center, to deliver high‑quality life‑support courses in Addis Ababa and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead workshops and practical skill sessions for AHA‑certified programs such as BLS, ACLS, PALS and First Aid.
• Prepare and adapt training materials in line with AHA standards.
• Assess participant performance, provide constructive feedback and support certification completion.
• Maintain documentation, equipment and compliance with AHA guidelines.
• Travel to additional training sites within and outside Addis Ababa as required.

Required profile

• Qualified General Practitioner (GP) with strong communication and public‑speaking abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing sessions and records.
• Fluency in English and Amharic; additional languages are a plus.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules and locations.
• Proximity to Kazanchis, Addis Ababa is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and First Aid curricula.
