About the role
The Community Work Assistant supports the department’s community relations program, acting as a bridge between the public and county services. Working under general supervision, the assistant helps constituents understand, access, and benefit from available services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs that assist community members and public interest groups.
- Provide advocacy and guidance to help constituents navigate county services.
- Identify and document needs for new or improved services based on community feedback.
- Serve as a liaison between departmental staff and the public, ensuring clear communication.
- Perform related duties as required to support the community relations mission.
Required profile
- Ability to work under general supervision and follow established guidelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse community groups.
- Analytical mindset to identify service gaps and propose improvements.
- Commitment to public service and community advocacy.
