Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Engagement Coordinator will support humanitarian and resilience operations across Ethiopia by strengthening coordination, information exchange, and collective engagement among INGO Group members at the regional level. Reporting to the INGO Group Manager, the role acts as the primary link between regional coordination platforms and the national INGO Group Secretariat.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen and support regional INGO coordination platforms where significant numbers of members operate.
• Facilitate collaboration, information sharing, and joint problem‑solving among humanitarian directors, area managers, and operational focal points.
• Serve as the principal liaison between regional coordination structures and the national INGO Group Secretariat.
• Engage actively with regional government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders to promote an enabling environment for humanitarian action.
• Provide regular briefings, analysis, and recommendations to the Steering Committee as required.
• Participate in regional INGO platforms, Humanitarian Leads Working Group, and other operational working groups.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian coordination and stakeholder engagement, preferably in Ethiopia or similar contexts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify and address operational challenges.
• Excellent communication and representation skills for interaction with government, UN, NGOs, and donors.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and facilitate collective decision‑making.

Required skills

• Knowledge of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and regional engagement processes.
• Proficiency in information sharing and reporting tools used in humanitarian settings.
