ESG Supervisor – Shewa Robit

About the role

The ESG Supervisor will support the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental, Social & Governance initiatives across JTI Ethiopia's leaf operations. You will work closely with agricultural teams and external stakeholders to drive sustainability programmes and ensure compliance with ESG standards.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve ALP & STP goals by collaborating with agricultural teams and external stakeholders.
• Develop training materials and conduct training for growers and agricultural staff on ALP & STP objectives.
• Perform field observations, monitor progress, summarise findings and prepare regular ALP reports.
• Prepare budgets for ALP & STP programmes and support data collection, spending tracking and reporting.
• Participate in afforestation, carbon‑reduction and community development projects.
• Assist the ESG Manager with various activities, including LCA data collection and cost‑of‑production analysis.
• Produce internal and global ESG reports, analyse results and manage ad‑hoc projects as assigned.
• Travel regularly to Jewah Leaf and South Leaf locations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 4 years experience in agriculture and sustainability.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks and environmental/social compliance standards.
• Proven experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, training delivery and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and able to travel frequently to field sites.
