Executive Head of HR Shared Services

About the role

Safaricom Ethiopia is seeking an Executive Head of HR Shared Services to lead a high‑performing, employee‑centric function that delivers consistent, compliant and cost‑effective HR services across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will shape strategy, drive digital transformation and ensure service excellence in a fast‑moving, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a shared services organization covering HR operations, employee and labour relations, HR records, data governance, international mobility, immigration, policy governance and HR systems.
• Define and implement the shared services strategy and operating model, simplifying, standardising, automating and digitising HR processes.
• Establish clear service catalogues, controls, KPIs and SLAs to monitor performance and compliance.
• Leverage workforce insights to improve decision‑making, productivity, employee experience and overall organisational performance.
• Manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across all HR service delivery functions.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leader with high integrity, sound judgement and strong business acumen.
• Demonstrated track record of transforming complex HR operations and implementing large‑scale process automation.
• Experience managing risk and developing capable, high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational change.
