Field Coordinator – Coffee Farmer Income Project

About the role

The Field Coordinator will lead the implementation of initiatives aimed at increasing the incomes of coffee farmers in Jimma Zone. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role involves close collaboration with local partners, cooperatives, banks, extension workers and farmer groups to deliver technical support and ensure project targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and organise activities that enhance coffee farmer incomes across the assigned woredas.
• Collaborate with local partners, cooperatives, banks and agricultural extension workers to facilitate credit and input access.
• Provide guidance, technical support and quality assurance for all project activities.
• Train and build capacity of local intermediaries, including Development Agents, on FarmerChat and video‑based agronomy training.
• Oversee the production of farmer training videos on coffee and maize agronomy.
• Manage data collection, monitoring of farmer onboarding, platform usage and engagement.
• Ensure implementation follows the RCT study design, maintaining separation of treatment and control groups.
• Support women’s self‑help groups and other producer organisations.

Required profile

• Experience working with local partners, cooperatives, banks and agricultural extension services.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Experience in training and capacity‑building for field staff and development agents.
• Familiarity with video production for agricultural training.
• Strong data‑management skills and ability to monitor project indicators.
• Commitment to supporting women’s self‑help groups and inclusive farmer organisations.
