Finance Officer II

About the role

Finance Officer II will support the finance department of Zemen Insurance Share Company at its head office in Addis Ababa. The role involves managing day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring compliance with insurance regulations, and preparing accurate financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions in accordance with company policies and Ethiopian insurance regulations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with internal audit and external auditors during audit cycles.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, cash flow statements and investment records.
• Support the Finance Officer I in day‑to‑day tasks and act as a backup when required.

Required profile

• MA/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
• At least one year of experience as a Finance Officer I.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian non‑life insurance accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
