Food Security & Livelihood Officer (Dessie)

About the role

The Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Officer will lead day‑to‑day implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Climate Smart Sustainable Livelihood for Women 2025‑27 project in Tehuledere, South Wollo, Ethiopia. The role ensures that project activities are delivered on schedule, that beneficiaries are selected according to established criteria, and that child safeguarding standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and evaluate FSL activities in the targeted woreda.
• Coordinate with the FSL Project Coordinator, local government ministries and community committees.
• Oversee beneficiary selection, ensure correct procedures are followed and document distribution data.
• Collect and relay beneficiary feedback to the coordinator or senior staff.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports and monitoring plans.
• Organise community sensitisation meetings on project modalities and child rights integration.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or proven experience in agriculture, development, or a related field.
• Experience working on food security or livelihood programmes in Ethiopia.
• Familiarity with beneficiary targeting and community mobilisation processes.
• Understanding of Level 3 child safeguarding requirements.
