Groundskeeper

About the role

The Groundskeeper ensures that the property’s outdoor areas are clean, safe, and visually appealing. Working on the Marriott International site in Addis Ababa, you will maintain lawns, flower beds, and other landscape features while supporting overall facility appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the appearance of lawns, flower beds, baskets, and planters through mowing, edging, raking, watering, weeding, and trimming.
• Clean, refuel, and perform routine maintenance on all landscaping equipment after each use.
• Collect and bag trash from exterior trash cans and keep fountains, planters, and other features clean and functional.
• Repair and maintain sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, and parking lots by filling cracks and holes.
• Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.
• Follow all company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.
• Perform snow removal and ice management when applicable.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related grounds‑keeping or landscaping experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lb and work on uneven or slippery surfaces.

Required skills

• Operation of lawn mowers, edgers, and other mowing equipment.
• Tractor and utility vehicle operation.
• Basic equipment cleaning, refueling, and minor maintenance.
• Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks such as trimming and weed removal.
