Head of Clinic

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a qualified medical professional to lead its Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Reporting to senior health officials, the Head of Clinic will ensure the delivery of high‑quality health assessments for migrants and oversee all clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the MHAC, ensuring compliance with IOM standards and national regulations.
• Supervise clinical staff, coordinate schedules, and maintain a safe, patient‑centered environment.
• Oversee medical screening protocols, triage, and referral processes for migrants.
• Develop and implement quality‑assurance measures and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the National Health Operations Officer and other partners to align health services with migration‑related objectives.
• Prepare reports, budgets, and resource plans for senior management.

Required profile

• University degree in Medicine from an accredited institution.
• Specialization in internal medicine, pediatrics, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, or related fields.
• Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including at least three (3) years in a managerial role.
• Alternatively, a medical degree plus a Master’s in Community/Public Health, Infectious Diseases, Tropical Medicine, or a related discipline with five (5) years of experience.
