Head of Network Development

About the role

Provide strategic leadership for HelpAge International's global network engagement, localisation and capacity strengthening, driving the transition to locally led ways of working across regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the HelpAge network strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and global impact goals.
• Set annual priorities and deliverables for each region through Regional Advisers and hold them accountable for performance.
• Shape capacity‑strengthening and localisation offers based on member‑identified needs, differentiating by region and member segment.
• Coordinate mechanisms that connect global and regional network levels, including regional convenings and member‑to‑member exchanges.
• Prepare and ensure quality of Governance Committee submissions and Board papers on network development and engagement.
• Directly coordinate members in the Europe region and collaborate on donor advocacy strategy.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading network development, partnership management or similar strategic roles within international NGOs.
• Proven ability to work across multiple regions and cultures, with a focus on the Global South.
• Strong leadership and performance‑management skills, including supervising regional advisers and other staff.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with donors, civil society organisations and institutional partners.
