Health Field Officer 2

About the role

The Health Field Officer 2 supports the implementation, monitoring and coordination of health programmes in a defined geographic area for the International Committee of the Red Cross. Working closely with the health team, the officer ensures that health activities are aligned with the delegation’s annual planning and respond to the needs of affected populations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement health programmes within the assigned area, following operational strategies devised with the Health Delegate and Coordinator.
• Conduct field assessments and regular visits to monitor programme delivery and identify health‑related threats.
• Collect, manage and report information on health activities, contributing to analysis of the overall health situation.
• Assist in the design of realistic project proposals that match delegation priorities.
• Organise meetings, provide briefings on cultural, political and security contexts, and translate documents into local languages.
• Build and maintain networks with national health authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and Red Cross/Red Crescent partners to facilitate coordination.
• Represent ICRC in stakeholder meetings and ensure effective communication of programme objectives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in remote or field settings.
• Experience in planning, coordinating and monitoring health programmes in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret health data and trends.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with internal teams and external partners.
