Human Resources Officer (Transport & Logistics)

About the role

Daye Transport, a leading transport and logistics company in Ethiopia, is looking for a Human Resources Officer to support its growing workforce. The role focuses on recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance for drivers and support staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and onboarding for drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and administrative personnel.
• Manage driver documentation, license verification, and maintain employee records.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution.
• Support disciplinary actions, issue warning letters, and manage termination processes.
• Coordinate training programs on road safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service.
• Administer payroll inputs, leave management, and employee benefits.
• Prepare HR reports on turnover, attendance, and training performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and transport sector regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in transport, logistics or service industries.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and HR best practices.
• Experience managing operational staff, especially drivers, is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HR information systems.
