About the role
The Junior Customer Accounts & Due Diligence Officer supports the bank in complying with regulatory transaction limits, monitoring suspicious activity, and managing customer account due‑diligence processes. The role works closely with branches and the National Bank of Ethiopia to ensure all AML and CDD requirements are met.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in handling customer accounts and due‑diligence operations in line with NBE directives and bank procedures.
- Receive, verify, and authorize e‑documents for new customer accounts.
- Monitor transaction limits of branches and ensure compliance with regulatory thresholds.
- Follow up on business‑relation termination reports and notify NBE of delinquent or suspicious activities.
- Support regions and branches in implementing risk‑based Customer Due Diligence measures.
- Provide verified information to external bodies such as police, courts, and intelligence agencies upon request.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in the banking sector.
Required skills
- Strong coordination and networking abilities.
- Capability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
