Lecturer – Full‑time Academic Position

About the role

Mizan‑Tepi University is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to join its academic staff in Addis Ababa. The position involves teaching, research, and academic service across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.
• Develop course materials, assignments, projects and examinations.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Advise, mentor and supervise student research projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program review and departmental meetings.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed outlets and participate in university committees.
• Support community outreach and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate degree (minimum Master’s; PhD preferred).
• Demonstrated university‑level teaching experience.
• Strong research background with a record of publications.
• Excellent communication, presentation and academic writing skills in English.
• Commitment to student‑centered, inclusive pedagogy and ethical academic practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with community initiatives.
