Manager, Financial Reporting & Budget Control

About the role

The Manager, Financial Reporting & Budget Control will lead the preparation of the bank’s financial statements and regulatory reports, ensuring strict compliance with IFRS and National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) requirements. The role also oversees the bank‑wide budgeting process, monitors performance against targets, and provides variance analysis to support data‑driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement division policies, procedures and budgets.
• Coordinate the annual operation and capital budget preparation, consolidating inputs from all head‑office units and branches.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow) in accordance with IFRS.
• Compile, validate and submit all periodic regulatory reports required by the NBE within stipulated deadlines.
• Monitor monthly budget utilization, identify significant variances, investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions to senior management.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation calculations and disposal recording, and reconcile with physical counts.
• Mentor and coach sub‑ordinates, fostering a collaborative and transparent work environment.
• Ensure adherence to internal control systems, risk‑management policies and NBE directives.

Required profile

• MA/MBA/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
• 7‑9 years of relevant banking experience, including at least 2 years in a senior officer position.
