Marketing & Sales Department Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Marketing & Sales Department Manager to lead the sales and marketing function of a diversified corporate group operating in manufacturing, import/export, and real estate. The role will shape strategy, expand market reach, and drive growth across domestic, regional, and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Set sales targets, KPIs, revenue goals and monitor performance against them.
• Identify and pursue new market opportunities in Ethiopia, East Africa, and overseas.
• Conduct market analysis to track trends, pricing, competition and customer needs.
• Expand distribution networks and nurture relationships with key customers, agents, dealers and distributors.
• Lead export initiatives, coordinate with production, logistics and finance, and ensure compliance with documentation and regulations.
• Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events.
• Oversee brand positioning, marketing campaigns and both digital and offline promotional activities.
• Develop pricing strategies, manage discounts, dealer incentives and payment terms.
• Lead, coach and develop the sales and marketing team, establishing effective processes and SOPs.
• Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports and provide market intelligence to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior marketing and sales leadership, preferably within the textile, manufacturing or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of Ethiopian market dynamics and regional trade.
• Demonstrated ability to drive B2B and B2C growth, manage export operations and build strategic customer relationships.
• Excellent analytical skills for market research, pricing and performance monitoring.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities for dealing with distributors, agents and institutional buyers.
