Movement Cooperation Officer (Level 2) – Re‑advertised

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a Movement Cooperation Officer (Level 2) to support the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its Movement Cooperation objectives in Ethiopia. Based in Addis Ababa, the officer will work closely with the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) and other movement partners to ensure coordinated humanitarian action.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of joint programmes with ERCS and sub‑delegations.
• Analyse humanitarian needs and ensure alignment of ICRC and ERCS plans under the Movement Cooperation framework.
• Facilitate cooperation, build trust and strengthen partnership between ICRC, ERCS and other movement actors.
• Conduct regular visits to ICRC sub‑delegations and ERCS branches to promote coordination and partnership modalities.
• Assist ERCS in developing internal policies, systems, guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Organise and facilitate trainings, workshops and seminars in Addis Ababa and in the field.
• Participate in policy and agreement reviews as required.

Required profile

• Resident/National candidate based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
• Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating joint humanitarian programmes.
• Proven ability to analyse context and humanitarian needs through regular stakeholder contact.
• Demonstrated skill in fostering cooperation and partnership between ICRC and national societies.
• Experience in capacity‑building activities and supporting emergency preparedness and response.
