Project Coordinator – Energizing Humanitarian Futures (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will support Mercy Corps’ Energising Humanitarian Futures programme in Ethiopia, driving clean‑energy solutions for displaced and vulnerable populations. This full‑time position is based in Addis Ababa and works closely with humanitarian actors, government agencies, and private‑sector partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage in‑country project activities, ensuring alignment with programme objectives.
• Develop and nurture local partnerships with NGOs, government bodies and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Support the creation of public‑private partnership models and facilitate financing for sustainable energy projects.
• Assist in building country‑level project pipelines and regional energy strategies for refugee/IDP hosting areas.
• Coordinate knowledge‑sharing, capacity‑building, and technical resource mobilisation across the programme.
• Monitor progress, report outcomes and contribute to strategic advocacy at the global level.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating humanitarian or development projects, preferably in energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of public‑private partnership mechanisms and financing models.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including governments, NGOs and private companies.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with a focus on results‑oriented delivery.

Required skills
