RapidPro Technical Consultant – Design, Deployment & Testing (4 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to design, deploy and test a RapidPro‑based emergency education data collection system for Ethiopia. Working under the Cluster Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other partners to ensure the platform meets national requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design the overall RapidPro system, define data flows from schools to federal level, and establish data governance, validation and privacy protocols.
• Set up the technical infrastructure, prepare server environments, install RapidPro, configure security settings, databases and user access levels.
• Configure and customize RapidPro for emergency education data collection, integrate with the national EMIS, and connect to analysis tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Excel.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and implementing data collection platforms for education or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong knowledge of government ICT environments and ability to work with ministry ICT teams.
• Experience integrating data systems with EMIS and visualization tools.
