About the role

Joining the SWIF‑TB Initiative as Research Director, you will lead cutting‑edge operational research aimed at eliminating tuberculosis in Ethiopia. REACH Ethiopia, a research‑focused organization established in 2013, has secured a new USAID grant to intensify TB interventions across the country. This role offers a unique chance to shape evidence‑based strategies while advancing your expertise in global health research leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate operational research studies that generate actionable evidence for TB elimination.
• Oversee the full research lifecycle, ensuring methodological rigor, high‑quality data collection, and timely reporting of results.
• Manage knowledge‑management processes, synthesising findings to support evidence‑based decision‑making by project partners.
• Measure project effectiveness through robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks, providing clear metrics of impact.
• Collaborate closely with donors, the National TB Program, regional health bureaus, and other stakeholders to align research activities with national TB strategies.
• Lead a multidisciplinary research team, fostering capacity building and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
