Roving Mixed Migration Project Manager

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a qualified Roving Mixed Migration Project Manager to lead mixed migration programmes across Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa and Jigjiga, Ethiopia. Reporting to the Head of Programme, you will ensure that project activities align with DRC’s Mixed Migration Policy, donor requirements and national frameworks while responding to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers, returnees, IDPs and other people on the move.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, monitoring and closure of mixed migration projects in multiple locations.
• Develop and track work plans, procurement schedules and implementation timelines.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure programme quality and accountability.
• Document lessons learned, best practices and recommendations for programme adaptation.
• Serve as Budget Holder, monitor budget utilisation, forecast spending and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, support budget revisions and donor proposals.
• Ensure compliance with donor agreements, DRC policies and relevant legal frameworks.
• Coordinate with sectoral teams, partners and stakeholders to deliver context‑appropriate interventions.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education qualification (e.g., degree in International Development, Migration Studies, Business Administration or related field).
• Proven experience managing humanitarian projects, preferably in mixed migration contexts.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, financial management and reporting.
• Ability to travel frequently to field locations and work in challenging environments.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external partners.
