Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the company’s financial accounting function from our Addis Ababa office. You will ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely reporting, and compliance with Ethiopian regulations while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and oversee monthly and annual closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements in line with applicable standards and local regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and payroll inputs.
• Compute and file taxes, monitor cash flow, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide clear financial insights to management.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, agriculture or biotech.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian financial regulations and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to produce accurate financial statements and manage the general ledger.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
