Branch Manager

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead the Amhara Region branch of ZamZam Bank, ensuring smooth daily operations while upholding interest‑free and Sharia‑compliant banking standards. This full‑time, on‑site role combines operational oversight, staff development, and business growth responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all branch activities, including cash management, service delivery, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, coach and evaluate branch staff, set performance targets and promote a customer‑centric culture.
• Drive business development by building relationships with individual and institutional clients, promoting products and increasing deposit volumes.
• Monitor risk and credit quality, conduct credit evaluations and maintain portfolio health.
• Prepare regular performance and risk reports for head‑office and coordinate cross‑functional initiatives.
• Support the rollout of digital and technology‑driven solutions at the branch level.

Required profile

• Proven experience in branch banking operations, cash handling and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities, with a track record of coaching teams.
• Demonstrated ability in customer relationship management, sales and deposit growth.
• Knowledge of interest‑free and Sharia‑compliant banking principles or a willingness to learn.
• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
