Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead Menkem International's financial accounting and reporting functions in Addis Ababa. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures compliance with Ethiopian regulations and internal policies while providing timely financial information to support logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and consolidate financial statements and manage general ledger entries.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for management decision‑making.
• Reconcile bank and subsidiary accounts on a regular basis.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Improve financial processes, internal controls and cost allocation in collaboration with operations and logistics teams.

Required profile

• Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise, including statement preparation and account reconciliation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, compliance requirements and audit processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Prior experience in logistics, transport or related industries is beneficial.
